Pinkham Notch, New Hampshire Fall Elopement
Corey & Monica have been together for over a decade long distance. They met in Shanghai when Corey was there for work and their relationship was always in between the US and Monica’s native Taiwan. When they got engaged it was while on a trip to New Zealand.
Finally, after years Monica was able to get a visa for the US right after Corey moved from California to Boston for work. He reached out and the planning for their day began. A beautiful view of the White Mountains simply wasn’t enough for this couple, I took them to one of the best spots I knew for fall foliage and mountain views. And did it deliver!
We started their day with a first look at a nearby waterfall in Pinkham Notch. Monica carefully stepped down onto the slick rock to meet Corey. After the couple was so excited to get to their ceremony location. We hiked up the steep trail to one of my favorite little overlooks in New Hampshire’s White Mountain National Forest. There was a haze sitting over the mountains from wildfire smoke out west which blew in. The sun was perfectly masked behind the haze.
As a White Mountain elopement photographer, I can safely say that hazy skies are gorgeous in the mountains and we were completely obsessed. After a very emotional ceremony and exchange of private vows Corey & Monica celebrated with a picnic of champagne and their favorite candies from Boston. We carefully walked down the steep rock scramble back to the lot right as the last rays of light were showing.
