Rumney, New Hampshire Climbing Elopement
Alissa & Cody were friends since we started van life. We first started following them on Instagram then met by chance in south Utah when we realized we were in the same area. The couple was engaged and had their elopement plans set for early 2023 in the Mammoth Lakes area of California. Then mother nature had plans of her own and the elopement became impossible due to avalanches in that area. So they decided on the place where many of their adventures took place before they started vanlife. They decided on New Hampshire and promptly contacted us to plan their special day.
We were over the moon and honored to be able to help our friends plan their day! They actually decided on a two day adventure elopement where they celebrated with family on day one and got married. Day two would be devoted to something they love doing together, rock climbing! When we arrived Alissa was getting pampered with hair and makeup. It was a chilly day in the 40’s for their early October elopement. Alissa & Cody did something we have never had the opportunity to photograph, they got ready together! It was so incredibly special to see the look on Cody’s face the first time he saw Alissa in her dress as they were adding on the final touches to their outfits. Alissa also reserved a special moment for her father with a first look, before he walked her down the aisle. They got married on the stunning property of their AirBnb. I definitely started crying a little when I was marrying them. After the ceremony we drove off to a few favorite spots for portraits. The initial plan was for Artist Bluff, but due to the popularity of the trail and the holiday weekend we opted to go elsewhere since there was bad traffic and the lot was full. Alissa and Cody were super flexible and had a blast at the other locations we took them!
The next morning we were up early with along with their climbing guide Lee for their adventure climbing session at Rumney. With a guide the couple was able to get the coolest and most unique angles incorporated in the photos we captured since Lee was key in making sure we could access climbs we normally wouldn’t attempt on lead with our cameras! We always recommend hiring a guide for climbing elopements regardless of your level. It takes the stress out of the day and gives you the coolest photos ever to look back at.
