Killington, Vermont Adventure Wedding at Trailside Inn

Not all weddings are created equal, and in the case of Meaghan & Bob, they definitely didn’t want to go the traditional route. While Bob’s father is a Rabbi and paying homage to his Jewish heritage were very important to the couple, they strived to truly make their small wedding in the heart of Vermont their own.

We arrived at The Trailside Inn in Killington at 5:30 in the morning to pick up Meaghan and Bob separately for their first look. Bob went with Anton, while Meaghan and I hiked together about 10 minutes apart for sunrise. Meaghan and I had a blast swapping hiking stories and getting excited for her wedding day while on the short, but scenic trail to a beautiful Green Mountain overlook. When we were almost there Meaghan changed into her beautiful dress. She smiled at me and pointed out how lucky we were that there was no mud on the trail, when there usually is. Not five minutes later, SQUISH! She stepped clear into a huge muddy area, luckily not getting too much on her dress. She shrugged it off and we both were laughing hysterically. The first look between the couple was something out of a postcard. After we all walked back together and took naps before carrying on with the rest of the day.

The groomsmen went mountain biking in matching tshirts on a nearby trail, while the bridesmaids and Meaghan stayed behind getting ready and spoiling the couple’s adorable dog Andy. Then came time for the more traditional Jewish ceremony, and a party like none other for the tented reception. Meanwhile, Andy wandered over and found the caterers and the best snacks on the best day of his life as well!

If you’re planning we wedding, but have a love of adventure, you can absolutely have both! Adventure weddings can kick out the traditional, but still give you the experience of celebrating with your loved ones.
