Top of the Ridge Farm Summer Elopement: Charlotte & Cole
Charlotte is a New England native from the North Shore of Massachusetts, and Cole is from rural Illinois. It wasn’t by chance that they met, it was fate. These two are so different, yet they love each other with such ease.
Top of the Ridge Farm Bed & Breakfast is one of our favorite venues to shoot at in New England. With the sun glowing through the trees on a perfect summer evening we couldn’t imagine this place being more beautiful. Charlotte and Cole were kept apart by the innkeeper and officiant Tatiana all day to make sure the surprise was perfect.
And it was. While Anton photographed Charlotte getting ready, I brought Cole down to a quiet spot near a grove of birches on the farm. While there I mildly taunted him without releasing a single detail about how beautiful his bride was. The moment Cole turned around to see Charlotte for the first time since breakfast it was instant tears of joy. As a sympathy crier my eyes instantly welled up for him, knowing how happy he must have been to see her.
The tears of joy continued throughout the evening mixed in with sweet moments of laughter. I’m pretty sure Anton was crying too. What can I say? We’re romantics at heart and live for this. Towards the end of the evening Cole had one photo request which Charlotte accepted. He wanted to shotgun a beer on camera. I’ve never seen a person shotgun a beer that fast, 8 seconds I counted as we captured the scene. Meanwhile Charlotte daintily sipped her champagne. It was fun, adorable and we were 100% there for it.
