San Juan Range, Colorado Elopement: Kaitlyn & Allen
As high school sweethearts, Kaitlyn and Allen have waited years for their big day, and they definitely wanted to go as big as they could for their elopement. So they flew from New Hampshire to southwest Colorado to elope. Adventure at over 10,000 feet called to this couple as we planned their beautiful springtime elopement in the San Juan range near Silverton, Colorado. The day started with a first look on a lake near Durango, followed by a hike in the spruce forest. Allen shed some tears as he saw Kaitlyn in her wedding attire for the first time. In the forest, we enjoyed the beautiful wildflowers before driving up into the snowy mountains to one of the most epic place on the Million Dollar Highway, Molas Pass.
The ceremony was held at quite possibly one of the most beautiful mountain lakes on Earth, and we were lucky enough to have it all to ourselves! More tears, more laughs, and so much love was felt by Allen, Kaitlyn, and the family who joined them. After the ceremony we explored the lake, the nearby pass, and of course had some delicious cupcakes together! The Earth was still that evening as the chill of evening set in, and the sun set behind the towering peaks surrounding us. We felt a presence envelop us in peace on this cool evening as Kaitlyn and Allen let the just married feeling fully come to light. We were shivering and covered in goosebumps, but no one cared. The warmth of our souls in the mountains that evening was radiant.
