Acadia Sunset Elopement: Sam & Kevin
Sam & Kevin drove from Wisconsin for their vacation in Maine. They had a wedding planned for October back home, but after careful consideration they opted to elope intentionally in Acadia National Park near Bar Harbor, Maine. They wanted to say their vows in a beautiful place together, just the two of them.
It was a perfectly still evening when we met at the trailhead. The spring greenery was vibrant, and the sun’s rays were a beautiful shade of gold dancing through the forest. As we hiked to the summit of a small peak rising from the ocean overlooking the magical landscape of Mt. Desert Island Sam and Kevin walked hand in hand, they were so wildly in love that the world slowed down just a little more.
Near the summit on a ledge overlooking the ocean Sam & Kevin exchanged beautifully well written vows to each other. Their tears mingling with promises and words of pure love as the sun began to set behind the distant peaks.
After the ceremony the newly weds celebrated with their favorite brews from Wisconsin before heading off to the seaside cliffs plunging into the ocean which Acadia National Park is famous for. The couple enjoyed bundt cakes from their favorite Madison, WI bakery. We rounded out the evening and watched the sun fade into blue hour on a cobblestone beach. The moon rose over the treetops lighting up the world around us as the couple drove off to their next adventure.
