4 Best New Hampshire Mountain Elopement Locations

You’ve decided to elope - to make your wedding about you, and in doing so, you’re choosing fun, laughter, and romance over the stress of planning a big wedding. Congratulations!

New Hampshire offers no shortage of amazing scenery - whether you want those cozy seacoast vibes, epic mountain views, laid back trail in the woods, or something in an apple orchard, NH offers plenty of amazing places to say “I do”.

Here are three best, and arguably most raved-about places to elope in New Hampshire’s White Mountains.

Artist’s Bluff, Franconia Notch State Park, NH

Artist’s Bluff is located adjacent to the famous Cannon Ski area and offers arguably the most scenic view in the White Mountains. This is often considered the most raved-about elopement location - so plan accordingly :)

The 0.4 mile hike is steep, but usually takes 10-20 minutes to reach the summit.

Perfect for:

- Couples who want the view, without a major hike

- Off-season elopements (Late Oct - May)

- Just the couple, maybe a couple guests

Planning to elope in the White Mountains?

Mount Willard, Crawford Notch State Park, NH

Mount Willard offers a stunning view of the Crawford Notch. This location is a little bit less popular than Artist’s Bluff in Franconia Notch due to a longer hike and longer drive for most people, but is still incredibly popular among recreational hikers. The trail starts behind the railroad depot at the Highland Center and tracks up with a fairly gentle incline for 1.5 miles, opening up to a dramatic summit view.

The woods just off the summit provide ample space to change, if needed, but as usual, tread lightly and avoid trampling sensitive vegetation.

Perfect for:

- Those looking for a little bit more of an adventure

- Elopements with guests

- Those looking to change on the summit

Welch Dickey Loop, White Mountain National Forest, NH

The Welch Dickey Loop located in the southern part of the White Mountains offers numerous unparalleled views of roadless wilderness. The best part about this location, is the flexibility that it affords. You could hike the entire 4.2 mile trail, encountering multiple cliff and summit views - a good chunk of the trail has amazing views! For those looking for something shorter, hiking the loop in a clockwise direction will bring you to dramatic cliffs pictured here within 1.5 miles or so.

Perfect for:

- Fall foliage lovers

- Seasoned hikers

- Elopements with guests

- Those looking for something more quiet
