White Mountain Lupine Elopement: Sam & Joy

Every June, something beautiful happens in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The wildflowers bloom, but they don’t slowly awaken - the lupines come alive all at once, almost overnight. The blooms only last for three weeks and it is truly a magical and special time of year here in New Hampshire.

When Sam & Joy first reached out to us they told us they had never been to New Hampshire, but saw photos of the beautiful and famous Lupine festival in Sugar Hill. From the very start, their story captivated us in a unique way and we all knew that we were fated to meet each other. We planned a beautiful wildflower elopement in mid-June at sunset.

The day started with the couple’s cute golden retrievers at a nearby preserve. They wore handsome dog boutonnieres to match their parents’ wedding flowers. After dropping the dogs off at the AirBnB we hiked down a nearby forest trail to a mountain river where we had a private, emotional, golden hour ceremony. They were radiating happiness as they spoke their vows to one another. Natalie performed a hand-fasting unity ceremony as part of this enchanted forest elopement. Sunset was upon us so we drove a few minutes up the road to the famous fields in Sugar Hill to watch the sun go down in total bliss. Their love tells a story of strength, beauty, and perseverance which only the White Mountains could compliment in such a perfect way.
